In June of 1902, Sunset Resort opened its doors and welcomed our first guests. Today, the 5th and 6th generations are taking what we've learned from our ancestors to give our guests the same hospitality enjoyed here for over 100 years. All of us welcome you and your family to Sunset Resort and hope that you find the peace and tranquility that first brought our ancestors to our beloved Island.

Our Rooms
Drop anchor & unwind: relaxation awaits you. Enjoy a panoramic view of the sunset from the comfort of your waterfront room, or on your private patio. Make room for the whole family in the spacious Pine Beach Suite, or book the romantic queen corner room for two.
Each room has a private bath, climate control, and high speed Wi-Fi. Our non-smoking facility has a TV lounge, refrigerator & microwave available in our common area.
Your Vacation
Your vacation begins when you enter our lane, surrounded by nearly 40 acres of evergreens and birches, leading to the shore of Green Bay waters. The woods, water and quiet atmosphere of our resort will set the pace for a relaxing Island stay.

Washington Island is rich in Scandinavian tradition with natural beauty at every turn. Explore the Island’s 36 square miles by car, bike, kayak, or tour. Visit our public beaches, museums, shops, restaurants, and return in time for the best sunset watching on the Island.
Around The Grounds
Explore our sand beach and take a swim in cool Green Bay waters. Enjoy the large green lawns, campfire pit, outdoor games, grill areas and tennis court. Take a hike on our marked nature trail, winding through our wooded property. Relax on our indoor porch with a cup of coffee to visit, find a quiet corner to read or to enjoy a beautiful sunset.
Continental breakfast is available every morning to our guests, featuring our famous homemade coffee cake.
